SA Health is developing a statewide electronic health (eHealth) record, called careconnect.sa, that will connect your health record at all public hospitals, health professionals and health services.
Our strategy
The careconnect.sa Strategic Directions 2009-10 to 2016-17 aims to define how the utilisation of a mix of modern technologies can contribute to sustaining and improving efficiencies throughout our health system.
Our vision
The vision is to have the right information, to the right person, at the right time, in the right place.
End goal
The end goal of careconnect.sa is to establish a personal, web-based entry point (or ‘web portal’) to access integrated patient health information.
careconnect.sa will:
- Provide consolidated and standardised patient information electronically across the public health system so that it is available at the point of care.
- Improve the coordination of health care services due to the increased accuracy and timeliness of patient information.
- Store information in a secure and protected manner within the SA public health care sector.
- Connect public sector hospitals, health professionals and the community statewide by 2017.
